This week our top stories are a Wild West Days schedule and an Orient 125th celebration schedule. Also on the front page is a story on Frank Bach’s new sculpture at the city park flower garden. Also the Mayor and Council have declared June 30, 2012 Carlos Sunne Day. Sunne was given this honor 25 years ago by the late Governor George Mickelson.
Features this week include Memorial Day Services, the Faulk County Unit of the American Cancer Society will feature “Survivor” finalist Holly Hoffman as keynote speaker; Joel Price was chosen “Outstanding Citizen” by the Faulkton Area Lions Club and six FHS track team members represented Faulkton at the State B Track meet; and more . . .
Graduation! This and plans for Memorial Day and the Women’s Ag Day in Faulkton on Wednesday, June 13, are our top stories this week.
These weekend will be graduation for the FHS class of 2012, so much of this week paper features stories and photos on the graduates. Also a school report and a story on Music Teacher Karen Wagner, who is leaving FHS this year. Also local poet and author Bruce Roseland has completed his third book, this time collaborating with Susan Melius, a local artist photographer. One final feature of note, Julie (Huss) Wieg broke the finish line on 10,000 miles of running this past Saturday! Congratulations Julie!
